Helpful Web Design Sites and Tools
- An excellent, free HTML editor is
Arachnophilia.
It's received many rave reviews.
- Royalty-free clipart, fonts, photos, etc are available for purchase from
iStockPhoto.
- Get a logo, cheap, from GotLogos.com.
If you require a custom or more complex logo, hire a freelancer instead.
- If you just need a simple text "logo", check out CoolArchive.
They offer a very simple logo generator (text only) where you can choose size of text, font, foreground and background colours, and texture.
- Use NetMechanic to make your graphics
smaller, check your HTML code, check for browser compatibility, monitor your site, and more.
- Willmaster.com is a great place
to look for useful scripts. Many of them are even free! Lots of great scripts to add
interactivity to your website.
- If you have no desire to do "technical" stuff, Site
Build-It is an excellent option. Their website builder doesn't require any technical
knowledge (although you can still upload your own web pages if you prefer). It's the overall
package, however, that's the real advantage - it's an "all-in-one" package that
leads you step-by-step through building and promoting your site. I highly recommend
it - you can find out more here.
